Constructing Futures

The Constructing Futures Project is a vocational skills and livelihood initiative under the Bridge to Thrive Program that empowers vulnerable and unemployed young men through hands-on training in brick production and bricklaying.

Participants are trained in the complete brick-making process, including soil preparation, brick molding, drying, brick baking, quality control, and basic bricklaying techniques. Through practical experience, youth gain marketable skills while actively producing bricks that are sold to local construction sites and community building projects.

The project creates immediate income-generating opportunities for participants while equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to establish their own brick-making enterprises in the future. By learning how to produce, market, and sell bricks, participants develop entrepreneurial skills that can help them achieve financial independence, support their families, and build sustainable livelihoods.

Income generated through brick sales helps reinforce the project's sustainability while providing participants with valuable experience in business operations, savings, and financial management.

As the project grows, plans are underway to expand training opportunities to include additional vocational, entrepreneurship, and life-skills components that will further enhance participants' employment and business prospects.

Goal:
To equip vulnerable youth with practical brick-making and bricklaying skills that create pathways to employment, entrepreneurship, and economic self-reliance.
