Women Artisan Group
The Women Artisan Group is a vocational and entrepreneurship initiative under the Mama Arise program by Beyond Nations that equips women with practical skills to create high-quality handcrafted products while building sustainable sources of income. The group empowers mothers and other women in the community to develop their talents, improve their livelihoods, strengthen their families, and create brighter futures for their children.
Members meet weekly for hands-on vocational training where both new and continuing participants learn professional weaving, crocheting, and other handcrafted production techniques. Training continues to evolve by introducing new product designs, improving craftsmanship, and adapting to changing market trends, ensuring members develop relevant skills that enable them to create quality products for today’s marketplace.
Beyond product creation, the Women Artisan Group also provides entrepreneurship and marketing training. Members learn valuable skills such as product development, pricing strategies, product presentation, customer engagement, quality standards, and effective marketing approaches to help them successfully promote and sell their handmade products.
As participants gain confidence and master their skills, they begin producing professional-quality woven bags, crochet items, and other handmade products for local and international markets through the Beyond Nations Marketplace. Income generated from these sales enables women to support their families, invest in their children’s education, build financial independence, and contribute to the economic growth of their communities.
